I keep telling you about the Japanese luxury that I love so much, and today we’re talking about Clé de Peau Beauté, in the form of Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer, a modeling powder that makes your skin glow.
Clé de Peau Beauté is not just a luxury brand, it’s Shiseido’s premium brand, with all that it entails. It has a luxurious design, a solid assortment, and interesting, well-thought-out collections, which don’t come out that often, but they are something! For example, the last New Year’s “Le Jardin Des Splendeurs” (The Garden of Splendor).
To create it, CDP Beauté invited the French artist Michael Caillou. He created a fascinating design with original embossings and intricate engravings. All of this required the artist to be precise and meticulous. He painted a magnificent, mysterious garden with birds and cheerful animals into which one can peep through a keyhole and feel the diversity of forms being radiate and astounding beauty. Nothing less, but that’s how the collection concept was conceived!
Here are a few looks from the presentation of the collection.
I thought for a long time about what to buy. As you can guess, I wanted to buy everything, but I ended up with modeling powder. My choice was conditioned by the fact that I have always wanted to try the famous brand illuminator, and now it is even in a luxurious limited edition. As they say, everything came together – I decided to take it. The only thing is that the powder is presented in two shades, and I had to decide which one I needed.
After thinking, I decided that the shade #102 Aglow with Wonder (on the left) is more universal, and will give a warm glow, which better suits my olive-yellow skin tone best; in fact, we are on the threshold of summer, which means I can wear it here and now, unlike #103 Wonder-full Radiance (right), which is obviously dominated by a frosty blue glow, and I do not know whether it will suit me. Even if it does, then to use this powder, I will probably have to wait for winter.
I have to note that I never buy cosmetics for a mythical collection; I buy and use them considering that everything should bring practical use, pleasure and joy, and not lie as a dead weight in the closets somewhere. So I decided to take shade #102.
The design of the box in which they put the powder is top-notch. On the front side is a keyhole in the ivy thicket, through which you can see a garden with birds and smiling lambs. The key to it is on the end of the box. It’s so cute!
Inside everything is standard – the palette itself and the case. It is made in the collection’s spirit – green and with a key.
The palette itself looks gorgeous! It’s made of quality weighted plastic, and the lock is magnetic.
The lid has a traditional faceted transparent cover, through which you can see that wonderful garden.
Let’s open the powder box.
Immediately you can smell a very light scent of roses.
A big handy mirror is inside, a powder that looks like a quilt, and a small golden-pink brush to apply. By the way, the powder box can be opened 180 degrees.
I want to say separately about the brush. It is made of synthetic hair and assembled by hand. If you didn’t know, the CDP brand rejected natural hair, and now all its brushes are synthetic, but the hair is of the highest quality, and each brush, as before, is made by hand.
This little brush is not a toy or a useless beautiful accessory, but quite a workhorse – it is perfect for taking the product, transferring it to the skin and polishing it. This is the one I usually use.
The powder is made up of four shades – milky, beige pink, gold and champagne. Initially, the surface was covered with glossy dusting.
And this is what it looks like after a month of use.
I tried to make swatches of each shade individually. It wasn’t very good, but you can get a general idea of the sectors.
From left to right:
Milky pink with a pinkish shimmer is the most matte with rare tiny sparks.
Beige pink and gold are well-pigmented shades, shimmery and shiny, and the sparks are bigger here.
Champagne colors are classic chimeric-satin, slightly sparkling.
It is not easy to use each shade separately, but if you want to, you can get the advantage of one of them with a brush. I usually set the powder with the participation of all sectors.
The texture of the powder is very soft, delicate, silky and finely ground. This makes it feel as if it is wet, almost creamy. You can already conclude from the texture that it will not dry the skin, although its foundation is talc.
It has care elements in the form of argan and evening primrose oils. I love it when decorative cosmetics not only decorate but also care.
So the powder looks like when you put it on your fingers.
You can see that the shade is moderately warm, not bright and delicate.
And this is how it looks on the skin when applied and blended with a brush.

As a result, the powder gives a peachy glow with a golden hue and the tiniest holographic sparks, which my camera refused to capture. There is almost no pinkness, and I love it, and the gold here is light and delicate – gorgeous.
This powder is not considered as a classic highlighter, the work of which can be seen even from space. It is only a light illuminator, and its work is a slight brightening to give volume and freshness to the skin.
I apply the powder to the protruding parts of the face – cheekbones as it should be, under the brow, the back of the nose, above the lip and the chin – and I like that it is impossible to overdo it. You can get it on a soft, fluffy powder brush and apply it all over your face in light strokes. I assure you, you won’t get a Christmas tree effect, on the contrary, there will be a lively light highlighting and blur.

Also, I like to use products like this on my eyelids to create nude makeup.
Hope you get the idea that the glow is super delicate, and even in the sun, the powder is reluctant to give away its presence on the face, but it makes the skin look more admirable.
A striking example of this is a nude makeup. The powder doesn’t seem visible, but the skin with it looks good and creates that same effect of highlighting from within, as far as possible, on my aged skin.
And to resume.
It was a timely purchase and a joy to use. It is a pleasure to use it. I like the beautiful powder box. You take it in your hands and realize it is made with love, and the energy of the “magic garden” message is transmitted to you. But most importantly, of course, it is good not only outside but also inside. I would mark that the powder is very qualitative; it doesn’t dry the skin, the texture is light, it gives a thin coverage, and the skin structure doesn’t emphasize; on the contrary, it blurs wrinkles. It’s problem-free in use, and durable, at that it has a gorgeous iridescent peach-golden shade that gives a light creamy discreet glow. This powder will definitely suit those who do not like bright highlighters but would like to have an illuminator in their collection without fear of the intense shine that highlights skin flaws, and I heartily advise ladies of age to take a closer look at it. It seems to be specially designed to beautify the aging skin.

The packaging is beautiful, of course, they know how to do it!! To me, the powder is closer to the highlighter and it emphasizes wrinkles near the eyes and on the cheekbones, too bad. But the simulating powder turned out to be a double-edged sword – perfect skin is even more beautiful, but not ideal skin will give out and I do not regret it.
I agree with you; there’s no point in arguing about it. Highlighters are a dangerous thing. But actually, my wrinkles are even deeper than you see in the photo, but the powder really blurred them a little, and the image is still a ruthless macro; in life, everything is seen differently. This powder can easily be applied all over the face, so it’s not a highlighter.
Then is it worth trying on porous skin?
Definitely worth it))) If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend it. It can really surprise you. This powder has the title of the most delicate highlighter in the world, just as a highlighter. There is a reason for that.

I used to collect them 🙈 Now I keep 4 of them, I use them from time to time. I agree, it blurs, gives a delicate glow. Also, if you need to brighten the inner corner of the eyes in your eye makeup, you can dot from the triangle sector with a small brush.
Shade 102 is similar to the old Limited Edition 16, but the lightest sector in 16 is more golden. The lighter shades, like 103, are a little chalky and whitish, not even cool. It is still advisable to test on yourself before buying. That’s how I got rid of one of the limited editions, with white and pink sectors, it was silver on my skin.
The brand’s packaging is above all praise; this is why we love luxury; nowadays, everybody tends to simplify packages and rarely can you find such beauty.
